Job Purpose:
As the Finance Officer, you'll be the guardian of Light Up Hope's financial records, ensuring accuracy, timely reporting, and strong internal controls. You'll work closely with program and administrative teams, providing financial guidance and support to ensure the organization's financial stability and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Records: Accurate data entry, expenditure tracking, and identifying inconsistencies to keep the financial house in order.
- Financial Controls: Ensuring audit trails, implementing recommendations, and maintaining strong financial practices.
- Budgeting: Participating in budget development, providing guidance, and monitoring expenditures to keep the organization on track.
- Payment Processing: Managing payment requests, ensuring compliance, and keeping cash controls in check.
- Financial Reporting: Preparing monthly and annual reports, management accounts, and ad hoc financial analyses to support decision-making.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: A university degree in a business-related field, with CPA Part II or higher being an added advantage.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in finance or accounting, with proven experience in project finance management and donor reporting within an NGO setting.
- Skills: Attention to detail, ability to build relationships, strong teamwork, and a commitment to Light Up Hope's mission.
