Ford IDS

This is probably a long shot. But, does anyone here have or know someone who has the Ford IDS program/tool?

A friend of mine ran his battery down in his Explorer and now needs to get his keys reprogrammed. The PATS isn't allowing him to start his car.

I have a obd cable. But, I use ScanXL.

But, both of his keys aren't currently being recognized. So, will this not work?

Thats a tuff one.
There isnt a remote start installed by chance ?
Some of the aftermarket units use a key that is ziptied under the column
to pop the NFC in the ignition. This could be what is causing the issue.

Most likely will need to take it to the dealer.
IDS hasnt been available to General Public in a couple years.
If they dont have to sell a new key or ignition it should only cost about $100.

It's great that it worked for you. Tried it and it didn't work for me.
