Ohio day trip

Hello all

I had heard about those Ohio day trips that the forum did occasionally but never attended one. Was curious if there was a chance to get a burn and turn trip organized by someone who is familiar with the route?

I dont have the route, but in the past I used to ride with members of Ohioriders.net and attend their rides!

My day would break down like this:

Wake up 3am.
Leave house 3:30am.
Met up with the north ohio met spot in Wooster, Ohio by 7:15am.
Ride with them down to the "Main group ride route" arrive there 10:30 am ish.
11:00am KSU ( I think) ride what ever route they would have planned.
Stop n eat dinner with a few left over Ohio folks that lived in north Ohio, break off the highway to finally be solo on I-75. Slab back home.
Arrive home SE michigan 10-11 pm.

Rack up varies miles between 656 to 781 over a 16-17 hour period!

You mean you wanna rack up 600-800 miles in 1 day?

We did a run through Hocking hills one year and hammered basically straight down US 23 the next year, either way I recommend 2 days.

I can admire the ambition to log a full day of riding on some good roads but this just sounds awful.

4th of July weekend could be an option. I don't mind leading if someone else wants to investigate sleeping/eating options in that area.

The distance and duration really doesn't sound like the right "day trip" for me. Staying over night maybe even for two nights is likely more enjoyable.
I can look into places but can't go on the actual 4th of July weekend. Any chance we can find another weekend? Are other people interested if we stay somewhere overnight and make it a weekend trip?

Maumee River/Tony Packos ride is probably the ride you always missed.
