Reason they're on sale is that the 50s units are on their way out.
It is a good unit though.

And as I predicted - 50S and 50R are now available on the Sena site - Single is 288.15 - Dual pack is 509.15. On sale for 15% off right now. Sena is also offering a trade-up program but hasn't announced the details yet.
I'm going to be getting one this year.

I traded up my 20S for a 50S.
 My 30K and 50S connected easily. I can’t wait to try out the 50S with the Open mesh activated. |

I went on a ride with TCD of Detroit last week. Open mesh is awesome. No worrying about pairing, just turn on and it works. People are readded when they come back into range, removed when they're not..

I have seen people struggle for hours trying to connect Sena units. I bought a two Bluetooth mic/headphone jelmet combo for 100$ on Amazon (mine are called Veetop). They allow intercom between helmets (up to three) and you can switch over to phone calls/music/maps.
If you aren't looking to talk to a crowd but want entertainment they work fine. The one in my helmet works since years. But they don't work with any big brand units. |
