Your house

Is a bathroom in the master bedroom a big deal?

A walk in closet a big deal? Multiple steps in type or like 3 steps in?

A huge open finished basement or finished basement just enough room to watch tv on a couch but mutiple rooms storage bedroom whatever?

Looking out backyard seeing neighbors back yard or looking out back yard seeing 8 backyards or no seeing nobody? Subdivision folks prob answer all

If you live on 10 acres or on ur dream land of nothing around you in gods country even on .25 acres no neigbors then dont bother on last question. Cause ur just bragging and dont live in real life and most us hate you and are jealous.

I think you are over thinking it, and missing the biggest question...How big of a garage ?
Unless you are looking for your forever home, it is all the same.
How much can you afford -vs-
how long do you plan to stay -vs-
how much $$$ can you make on it.

I have a small house with a small lot, and an even smaller garage. I make it work, and while i have close neighbors, i have alot of nature too. The house wasnt cheap, but affordable. And now i am buying the empty lot next to me, for chump change, thus giving me double the lot space, for pennies on the dollar anywhere else. I dont plan on staying here long, but want to make sure i can make the most out of it when it does come time to sell. for $400 fee to the city, i will have my lots combined and virtually double my property value.

Def not over thinking. It will be a while before i have a garage like i did before.

But since i have owned a few homes i do know about resale. Forever home or not buying a home to get by is stupid on its own. Because it works for you means it could sit forever until ur dopplganger it will work for him comes by. Rezoning does help but doesnt double ur value if you bought for cheap and add it to it will boost a little. But smaller house large lot people can shy away from the cost because its not a lot of house for the money. I already passed on 5 homes. Had a hard time paying that money for just property. Also, people living in town arent especially looking for a massive yard. But people do love large lots keeping neighbors just in eye sight.

If you stay 5yrs vs 30yrs shouldnt decide what you buy. the buyer on the other end still has to buy it. 1977 home updated will always lose to 2007 base model identical homes. Majority feel like the house wont cave in on them even tho older homes are prob built better.

I was just curious on ur likes inside the home. When you buy your first home everyone says my next home will have ..... You are right that if its a short term and in my budget chances it will sell to a new family or single guy with good relationship advice that he doesnt follow.

So i know what i prefer and also want to make sure its reseable or im happy to stay in it for a long time. However long that is

I was looking at 2 identical homes one had a master bathroom one didnt one had a nice yard looking at the back of another yard where one was at the top of the yards looking at all 8 yards going back. Full of pools swingsets trampolines and chaos. Both in my budget.
Hell i looked a cpl mini mansions in my budget but what am i going to do with a 2300 sq ft home?
Then theres furnace ac hot water tank all have a life avg of 15yrs. Maybe a new roof or not.

Your house

Dude the house you showed me with simple upgrades like crown molding, repaint the rooms more tastefully, solid surface countertops and put a drop ceiling in the basement would add 50k to that place easily

I'm currently going through all these, as I'm actively looking for house.

Bathroom on my bedroom is big for me, mainly because my shitty health. Could care less about closet.

I want as few steps as possible, again because my back is a POS. Flat surfaces FTW. Basement so I have somewhere to be a drunken asshole when it's cold.

Then of course, 2 car garage minimum. Oh lot's of windows....screw being trapped in the dark with our shitty dreary winter for half the year.
