I got there last week right before the rain started and you guys had all booked...I'm going to try to get there earlier...already gave the warning to the ladies and my buddy coming with me to be ready to go at 6:30 when I get home from work. I promise I'm not a flake like you all think :squid2:

So I'm driving down 696 doing 80-85 and I see a Warren cop blow past me at 100+. A mile or so up, I see him pull in front of 5-6 bikes and push them to the side of the road...literally...and the cop is blocking the right lane...I don't think much of it and keep going. I get off the freeway at the Main Street exit, turn right into another group of bikes and all of a sudden a state cop is coming directly at us, lights and spot lights, pins about 12 of us in, another one comes from behind...he pulls out his 12 gauge, racks it, starts cussing and pointing it at everybody asking us if we planned on running, lol...tells us to kill our bikes, drop our keys on the ground, and pull out licenses, regs, and POI's....long and short of it...I guess somebody hit a car's mirror with their bike?? I didn't catch all of it..but after a few minutes they got a radio call that they caught the guy they were looking for and they let us go...they even blocked traffic so we could finish our smokes...lol

Sounds like profiling to me, so A biker hit someone's mirror and that justifies them in pulling over every bike on the road :wtf::wtf::wtf:

I'd be willing to bet said mirror was a retaliation by a biker who was damn near creamed by some dumbass in a car. :2cents:

Well, as often happens, one particular group can act like a$$holes for only so long before the "Law" begins to come down on them and begins to ruin it for everyone.

Way too many squids in RO who are just asking to get popped by the police.

Glad to hear that nothing came of it for you, but I do not like to hear about the police pulling out a shotgun for such a simple stop.

Perhaps you might think about having a talk with the Chief of Police with regard to that officer's actions? Not to be mean, just to point out to the Chief that that reaction might have been overblown, but could have resulted in an accident.

Well, I think that if the police are going to be blaming bike riders for something like this, then the ROPD is at least 50% at fault as they let the crap slide from the getgo.

I watched one of the parking guys (not the large guy) walk south on the main drag until he got to the corner of the block where we congregate. He looked quickly down the street and walked down the side street towards the Post Office.

There were bikes parked inbetween cars and all that stuff on the main drag.
All the cop had to do is go up and either start ticketing people who were parked illegally or given them warnings and perhaps this car mirror/bike accident could have been avoided.

It would not be too hard for the cop to do, but he was either lazy or did not want to be bothered by it.

So the City should not get into such a state whenever there is a parked car/bike collision.

This particular incident happened somewhere outside downtown...more then likely somewhere in Warren being they were first on the scene and the State boys took over once the possible suspect(s) were out of Warren city limits...

That's pretty messed up! There's no reason for that. A bit excessive I think.
