hey guys, keep your eyes open and let me know if you find me a track bike. preferr a gsxr (for parts availability), but will take a 600rr, r6, or maby even a 636 (but i preferr not to ride a kawisucki).
yes i know, check the wera boards, i already am as well as 7 other forums. i find alot in NY from a guy i know, he has a site. 05 gsxr 600 for 3000 (salvage title).
im not looking for a 5000 track bike, more like 3000-3500 or less depending what work needs to be done.

Good man! I would however consider looking in the 5K range if possible. Reason being is that you can find one that is ready to go, with no mods needed. In fact, I may know of an 05 Gixxer 600 that will be going up soon. The guy is kind of a dick, but he may work out a deal. :doublefinger:

Well, just remember that over the winter, the WERA board will have a zillion bikes for sale. So, all things come to those who wait.
You will have tons to choose from, if you can wait for "that other season" MI experiences.
Good luck!

And buy a finished bike!! Don't prep it yourself, you will spend at least 25% more money. I said I wasn't going to do it again and I did. I figured since I bought my bike as a wreck I would save a little prepping it.......wrong. Still hit 10k

Dave, I am not going to push my bike on you, but in general, if you buy a bike for 3k, and have to spend more than $1500 (which is a full exhaust & Rearsets), you are already spending more than buying a $5000 bike w a full spare set of rims that is 100% ready to go :loser: . Whether mine, or someone elses, you pay now or pay later. :2cents:

Maybe several people should pool their pennies and just buy Lucky's bike and share it at the track. One person could ride it on the Sat, another person could ride it on the Sunday, a third person could ride it the next time, the 4th person could ride it the next time.
If people are really only thinking of riding once a month, that would workout, maybe.

Jon, not a chance in hell ill ever get back on an old F3. thats what i upgraded from before the 1000rr was a 97 F3. biggest fakin turd on the planet.
chris, i already seen that 05 gsxr600 on the wera boards. nice bike, but still a little outs my $$ range. i still have to move a couple things, then i can actually start investigating and calling on bikes.

Dude,
I guarantee that F3 will do more on the track than any of us are capable of making it do. I really don't think you are going to find a 2003 or newer bike that you can take to the track and ride for $3500, but good luck.

ok, this is coming from a guy who put 7000 miles on a 97 F3. im over that bike, it was fun for the moment. i like the newer bikes (looks as well as fuel injected vs carbs) and ive been seeing quite a few bikes in this price range. it doesnt have to be all done up in race form for me to be interested in it.

ok, laymans terms for everyone.
i am looking for a BIKE. it can have a slavage title, cod title, repaired title or clean title. it can be either a full street bike (which ill sell the street shit and buy track shit), or a starter track bike. either is fine with me. id preferr a street bike so I can make it the bike i want it to be.
webb, im not looking to wait till winter to grab another bike.

This guy was at the track last weekend, this bike is good to go. He was in Intermediate, but was also running in advanced. I think the frame will be fine.

People run straightened frames for track day bikes and even Amature racing bikes all the time, provided the frames have been worked on by an expert.
However, not having a frame worked on by an expert is a recipe for disaster.

Mike was the STT director at Grattan that weekend. He's a really good guy - with a good reputation. I think it would be worth the money - I looked at it when I was there. He had it in the tech garage. No one was making fun of it or anything.

The first two you can't have because they are out of your price range. The 3rd one is only 109hp, and that is waaay to low for you. You need at least 120hp to go 45 mph around the track. With only 109, the bike would fall over, due to lack of momentum. :doublefinger::squid2:
You hate me don't you
