East Meets West - Part II
http://images.superstreetbike.com/features/0806_sbkp_01_z+east_meets_west_part_II+2004_suzuri _hayabusa.jpgWhile an ocean of blue separates our two countries, Japanese riders are up to date, if not even ahead, of custom bike trends. The American culture, fashion and lifestyle are highly respected in Japan but are not necessarily carbon copied.

The custom bike scene continues to flourish, with bikes that feature tons of aftermarket products produced in the U.S., but applied with some of Japan's finest unique style.

The one thing that is certain is that fans of the two-wheeled form are the same throughout the world. Bikers, regardless of their country of origin, all ride for the same sense of freedom, excitement and desire to own a machine that displays their individual style and personality.

Cherry-Blossom
Butterfly's Opinion:
"This Hayabusa is the perfect example of how the Japanese have the ability to take the American-style custom to the next level. The bike features artwork that is as much at home in East L.A. as Tokyo. The use of anodizing, color and accessories screams feng shui."

Cherry-Blossom Butterfly's Opinion:
"The R1 from Still Rollin' screams urban chic. Camouflage usually looks industrial, but the subtle use of gray variations accents the R1's inner sexiness. Contrast-cut accessories combined with the black Laser exhaust give the bike a cool underground motorcycle shop appearance."

Cherry-Blossom Butterfly's Opinion:
"The Gixxer 750 is often overlooked as a custom in favor of its bigger brother. Truth is the 750 is the near-perfect blend of performance and rideability. This build doesn't try to reinvent the wheel, but instead accents an already awesome machine."
