Continuing from that "other" site:

Due to my injuries, if I go, I will be going by cage.
I am thinking of going on Sat, if the Redline riders will be at Grattan.

From what I gather, it will be myself, Chris, Jane, and Dave. I am pretty sure Nick will be there. Not sure about Nelson, he might be doing Saturday only. I have a few friends possibly coming on Sunday to spectate as well.

Wish you were riding though.

That was nice - thanks! I'm trying to get Maia used to the track and hangin' out so she'll know what to do when I am riding. We're kinda working on a routine to make things safe and easy...

Weather isn't looking the best for Saturday, so it may be hit and miss for track time, but Sunday looks much better. Damn, I did the "No Rain" dance all week too.

Looks like I'll be practicing throttle control a little more. I definitely can use some practice with the new bike anyway.

See everyone up there! Drive Safe.

great time saturday everyone. no one went down, which is always good. the weather held off for the most part. it was sunny, then windy and cloudy wiht a little sprinkle, then sunny again, then overcast, typical michigan spring day. then as always the last session is rained (so most everyone skipped the rainy session). the repave is freakin great, but most of the reference points are gone. i got a knee down in the "bus stop". it freaked me out the 1st time i scraped a puck and immediatle lifted my knee. lol i even did it again after i scraped it again the second lap. gotta get used to it thats all. really wish i had stayed for sundays trackday, but im beat and didnt want to take a chance on the weather again.

im just glad im finally learing the track layout, apex points, throttle controll, and body position. im still going "off line" at least 1 to 2 times per session (its from me chopping the throttle). but ill be working on that next time.

nelson, post up them pics, or email me them. i cant wait to see them.

+1 to what Dave said. It was a good day overall even with the last session rained out. Could've been warmer, but that's the chance you take hitting the track this early in the season. Hopefully some people will be able to come out next time to watch. Here are some pics from Sat. Jon, Jane and Chris are there today as well, so hopefully they get some great weather.

Thanks! I've got a couple of hundred pictures, but I tried to pick a good sampling of shots. Luckily there is enough time between sessions for me to work on my other hobby (being a camera whore!). I could flood this thread with pictures, but I'll hold off - at least for now. :)

Awesome pics Nelson. LMFAO! Thos pics of us sleeping are hilarious! Jane and I actually slept through an entire Intermediate riding session. The pics didn't show Chris curled up in the back of his truck, under the toneau cover.

Saturday was awesome with everyone there. Dave has improved tremendously. Nelson was owning the curves and seemed to enjoy himself much more than last time.

Sunday will rank right up there with one of my best track experiences so far. I was riding faster and smoother than I ever have. I am still probably one of the slower guys in intermediate, but I probably am one of the smoothest, and have one of the best lines. Jane is sooo fast. She is absolutely ready for the Advanced class, but she will go when she is ready. Our man Chris went to Advanced after lunch today, and was out pacing half of the people out there. The lap timer wasn't working right, but if I had to guess, I would say low 1:30's.

I have some pics from my little point and shoot camera. They will not be the quality of Nelson's, but I will post them soon.

Thanks all for coming, and we will do it again soon.

Good time as always. The weather was awesome Sunday. Everyone is looking awesome, it is great to see. I always have so much fun with everyone there.

Thank you to the control rider who slowed down to 60mph right on my race line on the straight away while I was coming up on him at 140mph, a very nice pucker moment as I tried to avoid ass packing him:cussing:

Unfortunatly Jon and I had to play medic during the last session. One of the Shadow Video videographers high sided in turn 7. Wasn't too cool watching his body somersault through the year. His only concern was his camera though and not his Aprila.:dunno:

All in all a great and fun week-end. I am looking forward to the next one.

Ah yes, didn't think to get a picture of Chris sleeping, but opening the tailgate would probably wake him up for sure. I'm also not sure how I managed to not get a picture of Jane in action, but she was doing great on Saturday as well. I'm glad you guys had such a good day today both weather wise and in terms of riding - that's what it's all about.

Dave did a great job out there and you're absolutely right about me enjoying myself more this time around. I don't know if it's because of the repave or what it was exactly, but I was way more comfortable yesterday and I will be back there again soon. I really need to focus on being smooth, clutchless upshifting, blipping the throttle and all the other stuff I should be doing!

You will be a phenom by the time you get back from VIR!
Jon, Jane and Chris will be untouchable after Road Atlanta!

I might as well just buy another boat. I will be so far behind you guys. I will just jog around Grattan.

i say fix the busa for the street (1500.00 max fixing), and then spend 4000.00 on a gixxer 600 for the track.

and yes, excellent time. and LOVE the repave. Jon/nelson, if you guys have any other pics of my ars, please email them to me.

Hey those were all great pics. I'm trying not to be REALLY ljealous that I wasn't there. I staffed yesterday for a BMW day. The weather was great - the riders showed up on everything you can imagine...:jawdrop: but it's still the best way to spend a day. The sessions were 30 minutes long. My knees are toast! (My back is toast from the Candlestone bed - ouch)
