I am now the proud new owner of a 2000 Ducati Monster 900. Many of you know the bike from when Walt (Blade) was the owner. The bike has mor mods that I have time to list, and all I need to do is ride and maintain it.
Thanks Walt. I can't wait to get acquainted with her next week.

I was actually looking at a 675 for a minute.

Rode a 675 last year at the Triumph demo day. Great bike, but I think the ergos on it are even more aggressive than most other supersport bikes. Good choice with the Duc Jon - just make sure to lube that pesky clutch though. :D

You bought a nice bike Jon. I've known Walt and that bike from when he first bought it. He took great care of it. You will be happy with that duc for years to come. I had a 900ss, it had that same engine, very nice...

I finally got the bike home last night. :deathmetal: It was dark, so I didn't want to take pics, and I will take some today.
Until last night, I have never ridden a twin. It took me a minute to get used to it, as I have been accustomed to riding at the track lately. By that, I mean keeping the bike between 9 and 14k rpm's. This bike makes great power all the way through the rpm range. I realized quickly that I love the twin engine. It is all useable power.
The suspension (Ohlins) is second to none. Hitting some of the twisties around Orchard Lake was fun on the way home. The Exhaust sounds awesome when you get off the throttle and\or downshift.
Ergonomically, the bike felt like it was built for me. It is definitely not a tall person's kind of bike. The bars, pegs, and controls are all perfectly located for me. I thought I was going to be blown all over the place on 275, but to my surprise, the bike was smooth as silk at 90+ :squid2:. It felt like I was on the CBR again. This was a nice change from the ZRX, which was not very stable on the freeway.
All this and the bike looks awesome. I stopped off at B-dubs for dinner, and got 3 compliments on the bike. Its Tough, sexy, and sounds great. Best of all its a blast to ride.
I will post some pics up tonight for those that have not seen the bike yet.
Jon
PS, Thanks Lucky for suggesting the twin, I'm going to have to buy you a trackday or something to show my appreciation:werd:

I was once a Suzuki fan...came of three Suzuki's before I bought my first twin, a 900SS. Ever since then I was hooked. The twin power, torque, sound, nothing compares. Dammit...I miss my Twin already...good thing I have my sisters M750 in my garage. :deathmetal:

Already looking at Jackets. Don't know if I want to come off the $500 though. But, I have witnessed first hand, the power of the Ducati Jacket. :deathmetal:

Doc,
If I get a jacket (before I get the Ducati) can I be in? :hi:

You do just like Doc does.
You wear the jacket and carry a Duc key.
No one knows you don't actually have a Duc.
