The craziest part of that whole thing is, you have to wear a safety harnes, and be clipped directly onto the boat.
When it flips over, you only have to hold your breath for 15 seconds (long time in a washing machine) and your back in business.
What they don't tell you about these boats is when and if they go all the way over, the mission is scrapped, and the boat will "get you home."
Actually that was for the old 44 footers. I honestly don't know about the new ones.

Did you see the movie, "The Guardian"?
Pretty good and shows what the Coasties really do.
As they say, even on days that are too bad for the Navy to go out, the Coasties still go and rescue people in need.
One of the Anchor Clankers (a person in the Navy) called those in the Coast Guard "Puddle Pirates". Funny! :laughing:
