ALL are Welcome!

The ride will go from Dundee, MI to Frankenmuth, MI 165 miles.

Meeting locations of Dundee, Chelsea, Brighton, Grand Blanc, Frankenmuth (lunch).

We will have a brief stop in Hell for a photo op.

Ok, I rode the route Saturday (got caught in the rain) for 2008 from Dundee (start location Exit 17 off 23 and M50) to Frankenmuth, MI. The only part of the route that had construction was the little diversion that I took in Flint, so that part is out.

Total time 5.5 hours.

Departure time will be 9:00AM from the BP station, 602 Tecumseh St., on the north side of M50 east of 23 (there is a Micky D's next door).

We will have a meeting place in Chelsea, MI at the CVS, 869 S Main St., parking lot (in the SE corner of the parking lot by the "Drive-thru Pharmacy" sign) on the northeast corner of US12 and M52 at 10:15AM departing at 10:30AM. 56 miles. This is the longest portion of the trip.

Another meeting place outside Brighton, MI at exit 147 off 96 (Spencer Road) at the Park & Ride lot on the southeast corner of 96 and Spencer Road (we will meet in the far SE corner of the EAST lot). At 11:30AM leaving at 11:45AM. 29 miles.

Meeting in Grand Blanc at the Citgo Gas Station that East Grand Blanc Road dead ends into off Saginaw Street in downtown Grand Blanc (we will meet in the NE corner, parking area, gas stop too). We should get there right around 1:00. We will depart there at 1:15. 36 Miles.

Head to Frankenmuth for lunch at 2:30 at Tiffany's Restaurant (34 miles) (see attached link for menu) 656 S. Main, I will depart for East Tawas through Vassar. (If anyone is coming just for lunch we will be parking in the Ziender's lot near the rear entrance to Tiffany's.).

We should be finished by no later than 3:30PM with lunch and everything on Saturday.

I will be going on to Tawas after the ride is done for a visit with Tina's parents.

So who's in? ALL Are Welcome!

Final Note: This is a Rain or Shine Event I "will" be at the pick up points, good Lord willing and the creek don't rise. Right now it is looking like shine, but a little chilly in the morning.

Hope to see you the 10th.

Regards,
Steve

If anyone from the east side is attending this ride and is going to the start in Dundee, let me know if you want to ride out together. We can meet up Saturday morning somewhere and head out as a group.

S'posed to be the only nice day of the weekend! I am so looking forward to this...hmmm...do I go with the sportbike look or put the bags on, throw mud on the bike and go with the hardcore sport-touring look?

Yeah, I had it listed a couple of places, and it sold within 3 hours of listing it. I got $300 more than I paid for it. Can't complain, other than not having a bike right now. I am going to pay a few things off, and either get a brand new one, or something that has very little miles on it, and is at least an 07.

Just got home from work and found my tire is flat!

It would seem that I either have an angry neighbor that is pissed of at me for the loud music that was being played at my bbq last weekend  and he suddenly decided to take out his aggression on my rear tire or I picked up something on the road while I was out riding last night.

I'm on my way out the door to Rosenau to get it changed but not sure if i'll have it back by tomorrow morning.

Maybe I can go to a dealership and "Test Ride" a new bike. :squid2: I wonder if they would let me keep it overnight, like they do at some car dealerships?

C'mon Yaz, let me do a 24 hour test ride on one of those new Gixxer 1K's

Hey Steve!

Thanks for a great ride yesterday at the Mom's Day Eve Ride II! Tell Tina thanks for 'manning' the support truck. I'm pretty sure she wasn't having as much fun as we were....Weather was warmer than last year and whereas our group may not have been as impressive as last year - it was certainly easier to keep the group together! I didn't run a single red light... Well, it may have been close a couple of times but they were yellow when I entered!

Chris - nice to see you again!

PS Nelson : :Without_pics:

Peace out ya'll!

Not a huge turnout, but it was still a lot of fun. It really did turn into a nice day for riding and once again, Steve put together a nice route - a little over 300 miles for me. I didn't take a lot of pics this time, but enough to prove we went:

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a258/flamingemu/IMG_4178.jpg

and a picture of Faye's new steed. This thing is made for the long haul and really is like a Lazy Boy on wheels. Now that it's good and broken in, the real riding can begin.

Can't wait for the next ride - hopefully other members will come out of hibernation and join us next time. :thumb2:

Thanks to everyone that made it out. It was a little chilly in the morning, but warmed up nicely.

Hope everyone's ride home was uneventful. My ride to Tawas was uneventful (except the temperature dropped 10-15 degrees outside Au Gres). Funny thing to. I left Tiffany's after Tina. She took the e-way and I took 13 to 23 and we met at the Up North Store in Standish (by accident) at the same time. I guess there was a problem on 75 at the Zilwaukee Bridge. Too funny.

My ride home on Sunday was a little wet (it started to rain just past Birch Run) for the last hour and a half. I had the rain gear though.

Regards,
Steve

THAT'S a bummer...it was pouring all day here. Gloomy. But since you are a hard-core 'enthusiast'
