Hello ladies and gentlemen,
I am new to the forums and new to riding, but I thought I'd step out on a limb and find out who the passionate Metro Detroit riders are around here with this short notice idea to organize a 2008 Memorial Day weekend ride.
If at least 5 riders would be interested and willing to show up, I would be pleased. The idea is to find some mature individuals who want to go on a nice, enjoyable ride, and not do stupid stuff. Who's up for it?
The weather should be really nice this Memorial Day weekend, I'm open from Friday-Monday, but let's see if anyone is interested and when they're available, maybe Saturday or Sunday would work for most people?! Post if you're interested and let's get something organized.
Let us know where you're from and if you'd like to participate. Let's RIDE together and get to KNOW each other. I'll give it 2-3 days to see if there are any takers and then we can seriously plan a meet-up place and a route.
Looking forward to your replies,
Thanks!

Yeah, the weather is looking great so far. :thumb2:
I have plans to head up north for the weekend but I may be back on Monday to avoid traffic. If a ride gets put together, I could possibly join in :dunno:
Welcome to the board btw!

I'm interested in a ride but would prefer Saturday or Monday afternoon. Gotta to go church on Sunday and I don't wanna miss the parade in town here on Monday morning. I wonder if they'll have the jets from Selfridge fly overhead again.

I've found that riding on Monday of Memorial Day sucks real bad...lots of traffic from people coming home from vacation. Sometimes they're grumpy and don't care about us little ole motorcycle riders...so if you all do ride on Monday, be very careful.

Yep, I'm a breakbeat DJ, trying to make the transition from the bedroom to the club. I've still got to check the lineup for the DEMF, and find out when the funky beats are gonna get dropped, and I will try to hit it up.
Ok, in terms of the ride... I'm not familiar with the Ann Arbor loop. I was sort of thinking we could ride through multiple counties. I drive to work every day on Pontiac Trail, which has some neat little twisties, the only downside being that the speed limit is only 35 mph. So, I'm really open to suggestions, I've only been riding on and off for about 2 weeks now, so I don't know the best and most fun roads to ride. How about a ride from Ann Arbor all the way north to say, northern Macomb County? ... Romeo, where all them farms and open roads are? Just some ideas.
First, I wanted to see if there were at least 5 people that would be interested, and where you're from. So what do you guys say? Let's get some "I'm in" or "I'm out"s and let's settle on Saturday, say... between 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM exact time to be determined.

if you like the little turns in the pontiac trail area, then you will absolutely LOVE the ANN Arbor loop ride. all back roads twisties. nice tight turns ranging from 15mph rated to 25mph rated sweepers. and alot of them. you should join us on the AA loop ride on saturday. you will not be dissapointed.
ot: if your lookin to get into the scene, let me know. i have connections in most all the clubs (blue, corktown, ect) and might be able to set you up with some gigs.

That be tight man, I'll have to hook you up with some demos soon then. I might be teamin' up with a group of fellas that call themselves the "Damn Panic" crew out of Ann Arbor, they drop some funky ass breaks and DnB. Been to their Marsh bash, it was frickin' dope, but I would rather prefer my own, individual paid gigs. At the moment, I find myself needing a new PC, my old one crapped out, so I can't record any new sets like I want to, and I also desperately need to find a way to get a professionally looking site up soon.
