I may just do Sunday, or I was thinking about bringing the other toys out to test out on Saturday in Intermediate, and then rock it Sunday and try to end the season with some 29's :squid2:

With all that track time on Sunday, you could ride them all in one day multiple times!
I just signed up for Sunday, so it's official now.

I will probably do Sunday since I am working Apex on Monday. However, STG still owes me a paycheck so I am not sure if I want to give STT any of my money.

Saturday - Sport, gonna test out the Hyper and the 848.
Sunday - Super-Sport, gonna get back on the gsxr.
Got to call the America Inn in Ionia, and see if I can get a jacuzzi room saturday night :thumb2:
Oh boy, 7 hours of total track time in 2 days, gonna be  after that.

Sport, but I agree with Dave that if the pace blows, I'll try to switch groups if possible. I didn't think it was too bad at MO as it's a big track with plenty of places to pass, but Grattan might be a different story.

Seems to me that if they would just pay her the money she is owed, there wouldn't be an issue. :dunno:

Definatley true but we are talking someones wages and not reasons why they are not working there.
Either she worked hours and they owe her the money or she has a huge parts tab that was paid off with her last check?

you dont think it was that bad???? you must have not been caught behind the slower ass liter bike bishes that kept looking back at me then pulling on my in the straights, then id reel them back in after a turn or 2. every time i tried to show them my front wheel, they peeked over and cracked the throttle. i got tired of pitting to let them go by, only to reel them in by the time i came back around. that, and i almost got killed as one of them went off line and stuffed me on the inside almost resulting in me taking out a controll rider (the guy i bought my gsxr from). how ironic would that be, the guy i bought the bike from i nail him from getting stuffed from a newbie.
oh well, it is what it is.

no its not that at all. i cant get any better if im being held up all the time. granted this
gives me more opportunities to get used to passing slower riders, but the pace should have been alot quicker and the riders should have been able to hold their lines and not have been
"let loose" on the track with out a controll riders showing them around.
from posting on the track time thread on .net, im running consistant 1:43 to 1:45's at mid ohio. thats a pretty good fast pace lap time. even tho the last time out there i was not feeling it on the track and I think i sucked big time out there. im sure we ran (nelson, myself, derrick) ran fatser times when we all were out there a month ago.

If you're running 43-45's at Mid-O, make the jump to advanced. The good thing is you will not be held up by anyone, and you will not be one of the slowest out there. Plus the added benefit of seeing how the racers navigate the track. It won't be long before you'll be in the 30's...

how much does it cost to sign up? i'm interested but have not found anything on price. nor on skill level? can anyone tell me how it works?
Luckystrike
08-30-2008, 09:49 PM
Cost is $150 per day, this particular weekend is all in two, meaning they run two groups back to back for 30 minutes each. Sport group is novice and lesser intermediate, supersport group is upper intermediate and advanced. Nice thing is there is LOTS of tracktime with this format.

You should have atleast one full season of riding in before trying your hand at the track. :2cents:

That is the most annoying thing when you are on the track. I usually wave when the person in front of me looks behind and sees me on their ass.

Planning on A2A event Monday the 8th, weather permitting, first time with them. Met some of them at the Team Chicago event begining of the year. For those of you familar with all track day event providers, please rate them and give your opinion. I am very interested. I am familar with NESBA, both Mid Atlantic and Mid West groups and feel they organize an excellent track day. Never done STT and have a track buddy who has had a bad experience with organizer. Interested in hearing how you guys and gals rate them.
Thanks,
Cody

ive only ran STT and A2A. both are about the same as far as what you get. STT has a 30.00 membership fee, A2A does not have any membership fees. A2A is more racer orientated than STT (imo).
i dont care who is the track organizer, as long as im on the track playing and having fun.
i dunno, thats all you get outa me at this time. lol

I like A2A. I am biased though since I am an instructor for them. There are fewer riders at A2A events making the track less crowded therfore making it a safer environment. You are also able to get more one on one with the track coaches due to the limited amount of riders.

I appreciate that NESBA will mark, turn in, apex and exit. Find it very helpful on a new track. Probablly not a big deal with smaller group. Everyone can still see CR's line first lap. Looking forward to Monday with A2A.

I should get out there with the can of spray paint at Grattan for the Novice. We usually go by sealerstrips as reference points.

Good times this week-end. I know that Chris was havn a blast on the Motard.
Sunday was a tad rougher. Almost took Lucky and I both out in the bus stop:eek:tryn to replay my previous pass. Dave and Nelson, sorry you guys were having a rough day. I myself was heading straight to the gravel 2x going into turn 1 thanks to Flis telln me to brake later than what I was. Suspension was not settling enough to turn in but I think that has to do more with how I was braking. Something to work on. I don't know how those guys go from 150 to 80 in like 6ft. Hit :29s a couple of times too.:deathmetal:
Thanks to Lizzi and Web for coming out to hang out as well. Good seeing you two.

Jon is out for the season. Mid Ohio was my last track day this year. The track bike is currently up for sale, with plans to get something else by next year (don't know what yet, so don't ask)
Life took an unexpected turn, and I have to move some things around, thats all. No biggie.
Glad everyone is having fun, and getting faster. Looks like I'll be playing catch-up next year.

Just didn't go into the gravel (actually they use rocks instead of gravel there, was able to get a close up view of it). There is a lot of track at the end of 1 before hiting the gravel which is the saving grace, but I was at the very edge both times. Keeping the bike straight up and risk going into the gravel at only 40mph was safer then turning in with unsettled suspension at 100mph. Of course I was laughing the whole time while saying oh shit in my helmet.

Hopefully the next time out goes a little smoother for me. I think the day started off on the wrong foot with the hour or two of sleep I got. The rained out first session didn't help either, so I just never got into it at all, so I gave up before I did something dumb. Hoping to get to Mid Ohio before the end of the month to "redeem" myself, so maybe I'll see some of you guys there.

i think i may also be done for the season. im in a "funk" and cant get rid of it. no major pucker moment i can think of to put me there. it all started the last time chris, jon, and I went to mid ohio. i had a terrible and i mean terrible day there (off pace, not carrying my notrmal line and speed) and this time at grattan sucked ass big time (OMG, i should have been back in the slow group in novice)!!!!! so im gonna hang it up for this yr and start fresh next year. id really like to get one more at modO before the white stuff falls, but not if its gonna be another shitty day where i should be back in freakin novice group.
i dunno, all i do know is i need to get my shit together or i dont belong back on the track. :surrender:

Some days the magic is there and some days it isn't.
However, you should both take solice in the fact that you are smart enough to call it a day and stop, once you decided the magic was not there for you.
Lots of people continue to "tough it out" until the day ends in a disaster.
Who knows, in a few wks, you might feel differently and you will be right back on the track.
