I'll be going FO SHO. Now that I know how to take the turns like Mladin, it should be a lot easier :deathmetal:
I'll just drive back afterward though, if I could handle driving back after 3-1/2 hours on a 96 degree track, I can handle driving back after 2 hours on what will hopefully be a cooler day.

it was nice to see the ama races at mid ohio. i was able to see the lines they were taking and seeing where i was fakin up (compared to them).
can i request a spot in the truck bed (for my bike, not me)?
lol
also Chris, i remember you saying you want to build a wood support for 1 or 2 wheel chocks for the bed for the barber trip. i have (2) 3' to 4' sections of 2x10 that should work perfectly. i also have a couple sheets of 1"mdf, but it wont hold up to any water if it happens to rain.

As of right now, I am going to be pulling a Duner on this one. I really want to go, but won't know for a few days yet, if I can or not. I will post up for sure one way or the other.
I will go in on the Garage as well, if I go. I would like a recommendation from those that have ridden with me, and ridden this track. Seeing as I have not ridden Mid-Ohio before, should I run Intermediate, or just continue riding Advanced. Honest Opinions please, feeling will not be hurt. I just don't want to be in anyones way.
Thanks,
Jon

Play it safe, sign up for Intermediate, bump up if need be. Last tuesday it was all in two, so it was advanced and upper intermediates in the top group. Honestly I'd put myself on the border, but really want to apply what I saw the big boys doing and hope that advanced is where I should be. Mid-Ohio is nowhere near as difficult to learn as Grattan, probably on the level of Road A. :2cents:
Translated, you can ride with Dave until you lap him a few times:laughing:
Just kidding Dave :hi:

Jon,. please run I. that way i you can "tow" me around. i guarantee you i can and will be on your tail all session (or at least in my sights, lol). and MidO is an easy track to figure out. i had the line thru the whle track down after 2 sessions. plus watching the ama guys this weekend, i figured out a few other corners (like T1 after the front straight and the key hole).

I will have all of my usual gear as well. Gen, Ez-up, chairs, fan, warmers, etc... If we don't need the ez-up, I will leave it in the trailer. No need to put it up if we don't need it.
If I can get the other wheel chock bolted down, I will have room for one more bike in my trailer. Its just a matter of finding time.
I will probably leave my house early, and stop and eat somewhere on the way down. I would also like to get down there fairly early as to not be rushed. I hate that. If anyone wants to ride along, let me know. I know I'm on the wrong side of town, but thought I would offer.

In most of the closeby areas, they have that stupid fence up.
If I had been willing to walk further, I would have gone to my usual corner and taken them as you guys came off the straight and setup for the downhill left turn.
Maybe next time.
Do you guys go to MidOhio again this season?

You kind of make it look very easy, which I know it is not.
Did you ever get a total count of how many actually did the track day? It didn't look like 50, but maybe it was.
What time did they finally end the track day?

Yeah, it was finally nice to pass you for once, yeah I know, your hand was up,
:ridin:
Ha,
Well I got the luxery of passing Brian and holding him off for the entire session, actually putting quite a few bikes on him.
Needless to say I got fired for that and then re-hired.

you got a 250 now too?
Nope, just a dead battery. I knew it was bad, but was hoping to get 1 more track day out of it. I am done for the season, so I can start going through the bike and fixing all the little gremlins.

BTW everyone, having water in your Belly Pan does NOT facilitate good turning. Especially when said water is spraying all over your rear tire. :squid2: Just an FYI!

LOL, i remember doing someting similar. Washed the bike brought it out to the track adnd needed to take the belly pan off for inspection. The friggin dzus fasteners were very tough to get out and then wahm the belly fell down and there was my fish bowl LOL

Mine was due to overheating waiting to go out. I couldn't shut it off cause the battery was dead. I could her the water going into the overflow, but didn't see any on the ground, so I thought I was fine. Took off, got through the S's, around the keyhole, and as soon as I hammered the throttle coming out, Whoosh! there went the rear tire. Don't know how I saved it, but almost had a 80mph highside. Had to go clean the poop out of my undies. I thought something happened to the tire, but nick was right behind me, and told me water was spraying out on to my tire the whole time. I am surprised I didn't go down in the keyhole, prolly cause it was even throttle.
Good Times.

Hey,
I wanted to say a huge thank you to Mike, Nate, and Webb for coming out and helping on Saturday. You guys don't know how big of a help it is to have someone just put the stand under you bike for you after a session, let alone push start your bike for ya.
Thanks fellas! :icon14:
Not a problem Jon...thanks for the appreciation...:hi:
